Who is it Best For
Will the Razor E200 Be a Good Fit For You?
The Razor E200 has been designed for children.
It is ideal for both boys and girls and versatile enough for kids aged 12 and up.
Razor scooters are well known for being fun to ride and the Razor E200 is no exception. Your kid will have a great time riding this scooter whether they are standing or sitting, thanks to the removable seat.
I would recommend that the E200 is used for leisure and potentially commuting to and from school.

Design
Does the Razor E200 Look Good?
With its bright, colorful and vibrant design the E200 is ideal for any kid wanting an electric scooter to impress their classmates.
If you aren’t a fan of the design and would rather opt for something that looks a bit more grown up, especially for older teens, then you should consider the GoTrax Glider or GoTrax G2.
The E200 also comes as a seated model. This model is called the E200S and is the exact same scooter as the E200 but with the addition of a removable seat making it extremely versatile – you essentially get 2 scooters for the price of 1. Remove the seat and you’re left with an E200!

Speed
How Fast Can the Razor E200 Go?
The Razor E200 will travel at speeds up to 12 mph.
This isn’t the fastest electric scooter for kids but it will certainly entertain them as they roll around the neighborhood. After all, as a parent (if you are a parent reading this), you don’t want your kid to be able to ride at very high speeds, especially if it is their first electric scooter.
Considering the speed of the E200 falls within the mid range of kids electric scooters (10 – 16 mph), it is surprisingly quiet. Your neighbors will love it.
How Long Can You Ride the Razor E200 For?
8 miles.
Is that far enough? For leisure use and short commutes it is.
Generally, you’ll be able to continuously ride the E200 for about 40 minutes. Just imagine how many times your kid could ride round the block on it.
Would I recommend that you opt for an electric scooter that delivers a longer run time? Unless you're buying an electric scooter for an older teen I think the battery performance of the E200 is more than suffice to ensure that your child has a decent amount of ride time. Beside, they will probably get bored and want to play with their other toys before the battery conks out – we all know how kids can be!
An alternative for you to consider though, is the Razor E300, which has a range of 10 miles, or the GoTrax Glider, which has a range of 9.
Weight and Weight Load
How Much Does It Weigh and How Much Can It Support?
It depends on how you want to ride it. If you ride it sitting down (with the seat attached) it will weigh 46 lbs. If you remove the seat and ride it standing, it weighs 42 lbs.
The E200 isn’t the lightest electric scooter that I have reviewed but not a lot of kids electric scooters are. In fact, most Razor scooters for kids tend to weigh between 29 and 59 lbs. The lightest kids electric scooter that I have come across is the GoTrax Glider, weighing just 20 lbs.
Because of the completely steel frame and fork, the E200 can not only support riders up to 154 lbs but also withstand rugged use.

Further Information:Like Razor, but want a scooter that supports a heavier load? Check out the Razor E300.
Foldability and Portability
Is It Easy to Fold and Carry?
Given its weight, both seated and unseated, I wouldn’t expect your kid to be able to carry the E200 but really, do they need to carry it? I’d say not – especially if they are just using it for fun.
Besides, it is easy enough for kids to rock the scooter back and forth to point it in the direction that they want to ride, if for example, they ended up facing a wall or some other immovable object.
You can, however, easily remove the seat and the handlebars to fit the scooter in your trunk if you are going on a day trip and want to take the scooter with you.
Features and Durability
What Features Does it Have and is it Durable?
I touched on how durable the scooter was earlier in the review but to recap – it has an all-steel frame which allows it to withstand rugged use and, as you would expect, wear and tear from your child riding the scooter and bumping it here and there.
In addition to a range of 8 miles and a top speed of 12 mph, the Razor E200 also has a:
- Ease to remove padded seat & seat post letting you switch from sitting to standing
- Retractable kickstand
- Simple to use twist grip acceleration control
- Brake on the handlebars
- 8 inch, air filled, tires to help soften the ride

Safety
How Safe Is It?
Whenever I review kids electric scooters I always like to highlight the speed at which they can travel. The faster the scooter, the more risk involved. Considering the Razor E200 has a mid-range speed of 12 mph I would consider it be to safe for kids – some kids scooters can reach 15 mph and others, 18 mph!
Of course, speed is only one factor when it comes to safety. Having a brake which will reliably slow the scooter down is essential.
The E200 goes one step further than just having a brake, though. The motor will cut as soon as pressure is applied and the brake is engaged, meaning you can rest easy knowing that while you kid is out playing on their new electric scooter they can quickly come to a stop if they need to.

Assembly
Does the Razor E200 Require Assembly?
All Razor scooters require assembly. I know what you’re probably thinking ‘Assembly! I thought I could just order it and it would come built ready to go’.
Well, you’re kind of right.
The Razor E200 will arrive 95% built, leaving you 3 easy things to set up.
What are the 3 things you need to set up? I’m glad you asked.
1. Attaching the handlebars
This is incredibly easy to do and will only take you about 5 minutes. All the tools to do it come included.
2. Pump up the tires
Again, this is very easy. It’s the exact same as pumping up a bicycle. In fact, make sure you have a bicycle pump to hand for this step.
3. Attach the seat (if choose the E200S model)
Attaching the seat will take you a matter of minutes and guess what…you don’t even have to attach it if you don’t want to! You can hop straight on the scooter and ride it standing.
Altogether, assembly of the Razor E200 (S) will take you about 10-15 minutes.
Pricing and Value For Money
How Much Does the Razor E200 Cost and Is It Worth it?
The original retail price (RRP) of the E200 is $339.99. But, because it is now one of the older models in the Razor range you can pick one up for about $239.99.
By the way, just because it is an older model doesn’t mean it isn’t as good as the newer ones. Really, all that changes between the models is speed and mileage. For example, the Razor E100 (the model before the E200), an electric scooter for kids between 8 and 12, has a top speed of 10 pmh, a range of 5-7 miles and costs $161.99. The Razor E300 (the model after the E200), has a top speed of 15 mph, a range of 10 miles and costs $341.49.

As a result of their market domination they are the global leaders for electric scooters and their products are backed by multiple awards, including Parent Choice Awards.
Can you trust Razor? Yes.
Review Summary
How Do I Rate the Razor E200 Overall?
At the start of this review I am guessing that you wanted to see a shake down of the Razor E200 and hopefully, by now I will have guided you to a much better option, the E200.
With that in mind, how do I rate the Razor E200? It’s a good electric scooter for kids.
How do I rate the Razor E200? It’s a great electric scooter for kids.
If you opt for the E200S, it's important to note that not only does it deliver the performance of the E200 but, the removable seat and seat post gives you the option to ride it either standing or sitting.
That means once your kid has safely mastered riding the scooter while sitting they can then move up the ranks to learn riding it while standing.
With the E200S you get 2 scooters for the price of 1 – the E200S is more expensive though!
